Description
Enjoy your festive Holiday Chocolate Cake Balls!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (and required ingredients per box instructions)
- 1 cup cream cheese frosting
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- Red and green sprinkles
Instructions
- Bake the Cake: Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Allow it to cool completely.
- Prepare the Cake Balls: Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl. Add the cream cheese frosting and mix until well combined and the mixture holds together. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill: Refrigerate the cake balls for at least 1 hour to firm them up.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
- Coat the Cake Balls: Dip each cake ball into the melted white chocolate and place back on the parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle red and green sprinkles on top before the chocolate hardens.
- Set: Allow the chocolate to set completely. You can speed this up by placing them in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Ensure the cake balls are cold before dipping in chocolate to help the coating set more quickly.
- If the melted chocolate is too thick, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil to thin it out.
- Store the cake balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
