Description

A rich and creamy cheesecake layered with caramel and spiced apples, all atop a buttery graham cracker crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a bowl until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even crust. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the sour cream until fully incorporated.
  3. Prepare the Apples: In a separate bowl, toss apple slices with cinnamon and nutmeg. Arrange the apple slices on top of the baked crust in the springform pan.
  4. Assemble the Cheesecake: Pour the cream cheese mixture over the apple layer in the pan. Drizzle caramel sauce on top of the cheesecake mixture.
  5. Bake the Cheesecake: Place the cheesecake in the oven and bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set. Remove from oven and allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Notes

  • Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter.
  • Use a water bath during baking to prevent cracks in the cheesecake.
  • Let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door slightly open to prevent sudden temperature changes.
  • For a richer flavor, try using a mix of tart and sweet apples.
