- 1 bag (about 12 oz) square pretzel snaps
- 2 medium apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), cored and cut into small, thin slices
- 1 (11 oz) bag soft caramel candies, unwrapped
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
- Optional toppings: crushed peanuts, sprinkles, toffee bits, or sea salt
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the square pretzel snaps in a single layer on the prepared sheet.
- Place a small, thin apple slice on top of each pretzel.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramel candies and heavy cream.
- Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until the caramel is completely smooth and melted.
- Carefully spoon or drizzle a small amount of the melted caramel over each apple-topped pretzel, allowing it to drip down the sides a little.
- Let the caramel set for about 15-20 minutes at room temperature, or 5-10 minutes in the refrigerator.
- In another microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using).
- Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip the bottom of each pretzel bite into the melted chocolate, or drizzle chocolate over the top with a spoon.
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with your chosen optional toppings.
- Allow the chocolate to set completely before serving. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
