Description
A delicious, creamy vanilla milk beverage that’s perfect warm or chilled.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16 oz milk (2 cups) (see notes for different types of milk)
- 2–3 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream (cold)
- 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder (natural or dutch processed)
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (more or less to taste)
Instructions
- Add milk to a large saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat until just simmering, stirring constantly. Watch closely, as it can go from warm to boiling and overflow very quickly.
- Once warm, mix in the sugar and vanilla and stir until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and serve in a mug along with any desired toppings like whipped cream or marshmallows.
- You can also chill in the refrigerator for cold vanilla milk. Enjoy!
- Using a hand held mixer, whisk, standing mixer with a whisk attachment, or milk frother, whisk together the cold heavy whipping cream, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, in a medium bowl until thickened.
Notes
- For different types of milk, you can use whole milk, almond milk, or oat milk based on preference.
