- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese sticks or string cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 20–25 slices of pepperoni
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil, flour, and salt. Mix until the dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Prepare the Stuffed Crust:
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough to a large circle, ensuring it’s big enough to cover your pizza pan plus an extra 1 inch for the crust.
- Place mozzarella sticks or string cheese along the edge of the dough.
- Fold the dough over the cheese and seal tightly to form the stuffed crust.
- Assemble the Pizza:
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
- Arrange pepperoni slices over the cheese.
- Season the Crust:
- Mix melted butter, garlic powder, oregano, and parsley.
- Brush this mixture over the stuffed crust edges.
- Bake the Pizza:
- Place the pizza in the preheated oven.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or parmesan cheese before baking.
- Ensure a tight seal on the crust to prevent cheese from leaking out.
- If desired, use a blend of cheeses like provolone or cheddar for different flavors.
