Description

A delicious side dish featuring roasted Brussels sprouts paired with crispy bacon for a flavorful combination.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise for even roasting.
  3. Prepare the Bacon: Chop the bacon into small pieces.
  4. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss until they are well coated. Add the bacon pieces and mix again to distribute evenly.
  5. Roast the Brussels Sprouts: Spread the Brussels sprouts and bacon mixture onto a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through. They should be tender and have a nice caramelization.
  6. Finish (Optional): If using, drizzle balsamic vinegar over the roasted Brussels sprouts and sprinkle with minced garlic. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese before serving.
  • Ensure the Brussels sprouts are not overcrowded on the baking sheet to allow even roasting and prevent steaming.
  • Adjust seasoning as needed before serving based on personal preference.
