Description
A delicious side dish featuring roasted Brussels sprouts paired with crispy bacon for a flavorful combination.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts
- 6 slices bacon
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise for even roasting.
- Prepare the Bacon: Chop the bacon into small pieces.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss until they are well coated. Add the bacon pieces and mix again to distribute evenly.
- Roast the Brussels Sprouts: Spread the Brussels sprouts and bacon mixture onto a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through. They should be tender and have a nice caramelization.
- Finish (Optional): If using, drizzle balsamic vinegar over the roasted Brussels sprouts and sprinkle with minced garlic. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese before serving.
- Ensure the Brussels sprouts are not overcrowded on the baking sheet to allow even roasting and prevent steaming.
- Adjust seasoning as needed before serving based on personal preference.
