A comforting and hearty lasagna made with layers of pasta, beef, and cheese.

- 12 oz Lasagna Noodles
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 medium Yellow Onion
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black Pepper
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 24 oz Marinara Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dried Italian Seasoning
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley
- 1 Egg
- 15 oz Ricotta Cheese
- 3 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles until just tender, rinse with cold water, and lay them flat.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan. Add onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking apart. Drain grease, season with salt and pepper, and add garlic for 30 seconds.
- Pour in marinara sauce, dried Italian seasoning, and fresh parsley. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg and stir in ricotta cheese until combined.
- Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in a baking dish. Layer with noodles, remaining meat sauce, half of ricotta, and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat.
- Add remaining noodles, meat sauce, and top with remaining cheeses. Cover with foil sprayed with cooking spray.
- Bake for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to rest for at least 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- This lasagna can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Garnishing with freshly chopped parsley adds a nice color and flavor.
