- 1 tsp cinnamon

- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
- ⅓ cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Holiday sprinkles or white icing for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
- Beat butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in molasses, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the dry mix into the wet ingredients until a thick dough forms. Chill for 20 minutes.
- Roll dough into small bite-sized balls and place on a parchment-lined tray. Press lightly and top with sprinkles or icing.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes. Let cool before serving.

- Chilling the dough helps to prevent spreading while baking.
