Description

A delicious Instant Pot recipe featuring tender beef and fresh broccoli in a savory sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lb chuck roast or flank steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 lb broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Heat canola oil in the Instant Pot on ‘Sauté’ and brown the beef strips in batches.
  2. Stir in beef broth, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil until combined.
  3. Lock the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  4. Do a quick pressure release, then remove the lid carefully.
  5. Mix cornstarch and water until smooth, and stir into the beef and sauce to thicken.
  6. Add broccoli florets and coat them in the sauce.
  7. Close the lid and cook on ‘Sauté’ for 3 minutes (fresh broccoli) or 5 minutes (frozen).
  8. Stir again before serving and enjoy!

  • This dish pairs well with steamed rice or noodles.
