Description

A delicious combination of perfectly cooked steak and shrimp, smothered in garlic butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 steak fillets (ribeye or filet mignon recommended)
  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Optional: pasta or mashed potatoes for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak:
Season the steak fillets with salt and black pepper on both sides. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or cook to your desired level of doneness. Once cooked, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.
  2. Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley.
  3. Make Garlic Butter Sauce:
Reduce the heat to low, and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Stir until melted and well combined with the garlic and parsley remnants in the pan.
  4. Combine and Serve:
Return the steak to the skillet, spooning garlic butter over each steak. Serve immediately with the shrimp on top. Optional: Serve over pasta or with a side of mashed potatoes to soak up the sauce.

Notes

  • Allow the steak to come to room temperature before cooking to ensure even cooking.
  • Resting the steak after cooking helps retain its juices.
  • You can adjust the garlic and lemon juice quantities to suit personal taste preferences.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the shrimp briefly in a mix of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper before cooking.
