Description

A delicious cheesy loaf bread that’s perfect for any meal!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 to 1 cups shredded cheese (sharp cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, pepper jack, or vegan cheese)
  • 1 cup milk (whole or non-dairy)
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter (or olive oil/plant-based butter)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a loaf pan with butter or cooking spray, or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  4. Stir in 1 to 1 cups of shredded cheese, reserving some for topping if desired.
  5. In another bowl, mix together 1 cup of milk, 1 large egg, and 4 tablespoons of melted butter.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula and sprinkling reserved cheese on top if using.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
