Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 to 1 cups shredded cheese (sharp cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, pepper jack, or vegan cheese)
- 1 cup milk (whole or non-dairy)
- 1 large egg
- 4 tablespoons melted butter (or olive oil/plant-based butter)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a loaf pan with butter or cooking spray, or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Stir in 1 to 1 cups of shredded cheese, reserving some for topping if desired.
- In another bowl, mix together 1 cup of milk, 1 large egg, and 4 tablespoons of melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula and sprinkling reserved cheese on top if using.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can use any combination of shredded cheeses for a unique flavor.
