- 2 cups cooked chicken, diced
- 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare Bacon and Chicken: Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove the bacon and crumble it into pieces once cooled. Dice cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Create Creamy Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- Assemble Casserole: In a baking dish, spread half of the creamy mixture on the bottom. Layer the diced chicken over the mixture. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and 1 cup of shredded cheese.
- Add Remaining Layers: Pour the remaining creamy mixture over the top. Sprinkle the rest of the shredded cheese over the top.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, consider adding diced jalapeños or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
- This casserole pairs well with a side salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
