Description

A delicious and comforting casserole made with ground beef, Doritos, and cheesy goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 can (10 oz.) diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag Nacho Cheese Doritos
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz.) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup whole kernel corn, drained (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion until it’s browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add Seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning and the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Creamy Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream. Mix until smooth.
  5. Layer the Ingredients: In a large baking dish, layer half of the Doritos at the bottom, evenly spread the beef mixture over the Doritos, and sprinkle a layer of cheese. Spread half of the creamy mixture on top.
  6. Repeat Layering: Add another layer of Doritos, followed by the remaining beef mixture, more cheese, and the rest of the creamy mixture. Top with any remaining cheese.
  7. Bake the Casserole: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly golden on top.
  8. Serve: Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving with a dollop of sour cream if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to add a can of drained whole kernel corn for extra texture and flavor.
  • For more heat, consider adding diced jalapeños into the beef mixture.
  • Use a mix of cheese if desired, such as Monterey Jack or Mexican blend, for extra flavor.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro or green onions for a fresh finish.
